Emily Breedlove is a sculptor/installation artist that works mainly with recognizable and found objects. She uses repetitive forms in large quantities to emphasize the process of the piece. Breedlove is studying sculpture at SUNY Fredonia to obtain her BFA degree with a minor in museum studies.
Breedlove's entry is called Tufts. Here is what she has to say about the installation:
"This piece is to bring attention to the symbolism and beauty that hair beholds whether it is on or detached from one's head. Each tuft is a symbol of self identity that separates us from others; however, with the mass quantity of repetitive forms and materials it is a symbol of how we are able to associate with others as well."
